I managed to visit an elderly home for the aged and it turned out as an appropriate opportunity to share the love of Christ. The thought came after I grappled with the issue on the way I can talk to the aged about Christ. This was a superb chance to introduce Christ to the aged. It involved setting a day off, praying for the elderly that I was to visit, and take the initiative to visit the home.

The main activity of the visit was first to have a one on one interaction with the elderly in the home. My intention was to build a positive relationship with them, who are often forgotten, and introduce them to Christ. I connected with the elderly in the home in order to know their needs, and share about Christ to them. A number of them were hurt, and they felt forgotten in the home by their relatives and friends. I reminded them that Christ was their closest friend until the end. In addition, I carried some food items, and Christian literatures, which I gave at no cost to those I ministered. They were happy to receive the food items and felt appreciated.

As earlier mentioned, the opportunity to visit the elderly home in our neighborhood came out of my personal meditation. In my meditation, I thought about the need to visit the home, which was just a few yards from my home. I shared my testimony in salvation, and the Gospel of Christ to them. They responded positively to the call, especially through the reminder that Christ was their closest friend. A number of them gave their lives to Christ and purposed to walk the journey of Christianity. I will follow up the spiritual growth of this people by undertaking further visits into the home, and encouraging them to walk the life of Christ.
