Sexual Harassment, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 322

Essay

Handling sexual harassment may prove difficult at times especially where one fears loosing job. In many cases, individuals who ended up as victims of this unacceptable behavior argue that they feel they had no real choice in the face of this situation. In addition, they hold the view that trying to solve would results to tension in the workplace. This goes further to affect other people besides the initial persons involved. This work serves to deliberate on possible steps taken when handling sexual harassment.

In the case where my two colleagues are victims of a senior associate, the first step will be to confide the same in a different individual. This person should preferably be a senior associate or any other person who is respected and close to the senior associate. In addition, he/she should be trustworthy and able to handle the matter wisely. The confidante is expected to talk with the senior associate on the repercussion of the same behavior on his well-being as well as the assistant administrators.

In the case where this fails, taking the risk of handling the bull by the head is imperative. This will demand that all fears of possible negative repercussions be laid aside. In fact, handling this situation successfully will carry a serious implication on my ability to handle future social problems of the kind if promoted.

Finally, it will be necessary to advise the two assistant administrators to consider writing letters of complaint to the organization management. This is the case if the other approaches fail. It will be crucial for them to know that their fate lies in the hands of several people and it is not just about this single associate.

In conclusion, there is no reason that is enough to justify remaining silent whatever the case while undergoing such an evil treatment. There must come a point where one has to make the decision to blow out the vice for it to be handled.
