Pages: 2

Words: 612

Essay

Which steps in the ethical decision making process did Odwalla fail to consider?

In the desire of making profit, the organization decided to use blemished fruits to produce fruit juices that were sold in the market later on. This decision created more problems than profit making it harder for the organization to make lesser out of the supposed savings they aimed to gain from such operation.

How does Odwalla’s corporate social responsibility model differ from their actions and conduct provided in the case?

While the business promises to provide nothing but the best for the community, they fail to respond to this need when they decided that it would be okay to send out blemished products for public consumption. Instead of thinking of the consumers accordingly, Odwalla was more concerned on how they might be able to get the profit out from the operations they have incurred within the production schedule. Noticeably, this matter has been fully considerate on how organizations intend to become more considerate with the concerns of their stakeholders [especially their clients]. The brief loss of control on the matter and the mistaken decision made regarding the issue made a distinct mark on the reputation of the organization hence pointing out how the business aims to lessen costs and expenses of production [later on causing much more problems in the long run].

What course of action would have supported Odwalla’s corporate social responsibility model?

Once they have realized that such condition of their products, it would have been the best decision to simply retrieve all the released products during the said scheduled production operation and make sure that there were no blemished products in the market anymore before another batch is released out for consumption. Keeping a closer look on how the business serves the needs of the market accordingly makes it easier for the organization to take control of the operations and the resources thus gaining more profit from the expenses they have incurred through time.

A summary of the current event

The Starbucks Company is one of the most common organizations that are being portrayed to have problems with ethical issues especially in relation to their connection to coffee growers working remotely for the business. Noticeably, this notes the condition by which the company is likely making higher profits out from the meager earnings of the farmers. This has long been a question of operations that the business engages with. It could not be denied that the manner by which modern businesses are able to bring back to the community and make sure that it responsibly handles its role as providers of work and opportunities to the people make a mark on how serious the company is in the desire of making a distinct sense of insistence on how it brings back the value that the society deserves to receive back from the fact that they are a big part of the company’s success in business.

How this current event relates to ethical and/or unethical behavior

Supplier-relationships that the business have with coffee growers create a definite term of insistence on how the organization aims to take care of their reputation especially relating to matters connected to specific issues considering ethical conditions of relationship with entities they ought to work with.

Post a two sentence summary, a two sentence explanation of ethical/unethical behavior, and the article citation to the Current Events discussion board.

To respond to the situation, the company now sets a specific funding that brings back profits and monetary incentives to remote growers. This allows the organization to become more effective in directing a better sense of development that would assure the condition of connection that they have with remote growers of coffee grounds in Costa Rica.
