Socio-Political Environment of Mexico, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 374

Essay

Mexico had to solve its basic political problem by using different methods. Mexicans had a poor management of power as transfer of power from one ruler to the other was full of biases. Most of the rulers, even if after election of elegant and young rulers, believed in themselves. Creation of a national party was the only solution. This made them to have good stay together as the national party brought people together by giving them good opportunities to exercise there roles. The mural ‘Distribution of the land,’ by Rivera states that among the activities of interaction were playing together nationally i.e. in sports, dancing competitions, businesses clubs and also in the constitution.

Rivera’s mural ‘The Agitator,’ asserts that the living standards of the lower class were always affected as those who were ruling in the top seats did not bother to assist them. We also see that there was a ground swell of the discontent in the general population. This also led to poor economic growth since most of the activities that were to make Mexico grow were not well managed. It is evident from Rivera’s mural ‘The Exploited,’ that there was poor income due to unemployment in the areas. High taxes made the poor not to get good money. Bad harvests also made the fall of food suppliers. The middle class was also affected by the inflation and the increase of the taxes by the higher ranked banks. This made the middle class struggle to make ends meet.

The presidential election of October 1911 saw Mexico improve to a different level. Due to the change of power, the people of Mexico had a good atmosphere and good management of power. The most appropriate thing that was being done was the creation of a ruling party. This ruling party made people have unity and good stay together. A revolution of the social political unity was also seen when the renewed struggles took place in 1912 between the factions and dominance of state. This made the people to have a clear mind and all the bad politics in Mexico ended. This brings us to a conclusion that the powers in Mexico were changed from a minute of decade to a real life situation within years.
