I am Mustafa Mosally and was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1991. Saudi Arabia, officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was founded by King Abdul-Aziz bin Saud in the year 1932 and is also called the cradle of Islam. Strict adherence to Islamic rules as well as strong presence of traditional culture in everyday lives does make life complicated at times.

I am not much different from other young adult Saudis and even though my cultural background may be quite different from most other students at Lynn University, I still consider myself a culturally diverse individual due to my strong cross-cultural knowledge. When I first came to America, I was quite conscious of the differences between me and others but over time I have adjusted well in the country. I have embraced American lifestyle and now feel at home here. My initial discomfort was also due to language barriers and moreover, I was still getting used to a new culture and environment but now I believe this country has helped me become a better person who has learnt to appreciate the diversity of cultures. I consider myself fortunate to have been able to come to America and experience cultural diversity because some people do not realize the benefits of cross-cultural experiences.

My earliest childhood memories are of travels with my family as we used to take at least two annual trips. Thus, I realized at a very young age that I wanted to study abroad because I enjoy travelling and studying abroad would also provide opportunities to meet new people and explore new places. There came a time when I would start planning individual summer trips to cities I had never visited. I and my family have travelled to many places especially those in Europe such as Spain and the U.K. I am grateful to my family for providing me with such beautiful memories and for always supporting and encouraging me to pursue my interests and dreams in life.
