Stakeholder Engagement, Reaction Paper Example

Reaction Paper

Introduction

Key stakeholders are instrumental in supporting healthcare organizations on many levels. These individuals represent external driving forces within an organization and provide a framework for growth and opportunity. Stakeholders provide expert knowledge and guidance regarding organizational needs that must be addressed in a timely manner to achieve effective results. These conditions support the development of new approaches to manage healthcare issues in a timely manner with the greatest possible resources and efficiencies in place to protect patients and improve their chance for greater recovery and overall wellbeing. Patients must serve as the primary focus of external stakeholders so that the organization achieves its desired focus and purpose.

Analysis

Healthcare environments are likely to achieve greater benefits from external stakeholder engagement in many ways. For example, engagement in research is essential for the discovery of new opportunities for growth within a healthcare environment (O’Haire et.al, 2011). Quality of care must also be addressed so that patients are provided with the best possible resources to promote greater recovery and overall quality of care (Concannon et.al, 2012). Patients and their family members must also be involved promoting improved processes so that the organization is able to optimize its resources and align its objectives with patient care needs (Carman et.al, 2013). These challenges support the continued growth and development of healthcare organizations so that clinicians and other team members are able to perform at optimum levels (Carman et.al, 2013). In community-based healthcare organizations, similar objectives exist as there are significant patterns of change and growth to consider that will improve community-based health factors and objectives (Brownstein et.al, 2011). These alternatives support the development of new perspectives to facilitate patient care in the community-based setting (Brownstein et.al, 2011).

Healthcare organizations require a strong level of commitment from their external stakeholders to ensure that they are performing to expectations. This supports an organizational focus and a high level of growth regarding the challenges of providing patient care and treatment in the desired manner. It is necessary for organizations to engage their external stakeholders through different activities so that they are able to offer patients a variety of opportunities for growth and change that will support and enhance outcomes. It is expected that organizations will use these stakeholders to their advantage and to achieve the objectives that are most important. External stakeholders provide many opportunities for growth and also provide expert knowledge and resources for a healthcare organization; therefore, these objectives must be explored in greater detail as a means of addressing new challenges and solutions that would support organizational growth. Supporting the efficient use of financial resources and human capital should serve as key priorities for healthcare organizations in order to expand knowledge and support the healthcare process as a whole.

Conclusion

Healthcare organizations depend on many factors that support the continued growth and development of practice settings. External stakeholders play a critical role in this process and provide support in the form of new strategies to improve practice settings and enhance quality of care. It is the responsibility of external stakeholders to support the organizational vision and also demonstrate an important means of achieving greater growth and change. These issues will enable clinicians, administrators, patients, and family members to work collaboratively towards mutually beneficial solutions to common problems that exist in healthcare settings. This approach is largely affected by external stakeholders and their widespread influence on healthcare practice and the activities that take place on a regular basis within these organizations.
