When the Pevenise children return to Narnia they realize much has changed since their last visit for King Miraz has taken control over the past hundred years. A heroic mouse called Reepicheep sets out to help the children overthrow the new king in order to regain the privileged throne rightfully theirs. King Miraz does a dreadfully heart wrenching thing and orders the murder of Queen Prunaprismia’s baby boy which sends ravic into the community. The baby boy is saved by the magic of Prince Capician’s tutor Susan’s magic horn. As the story progresses the children are sought out by Lucy to find Aslan to beat the powerful and dangerous Telemarian Army.

“She is wonderfully brave. She is what I call a Queen. I hope she is going to tell us the story of this palace!” sighed the children. (39). This passage gives rise to the strong hold of the Queen had on the palace as the Pevenise children came back after hundreds of years had passed. They hoped that the passage that the Queen showed them would lead to the principle torture chambers.  They all had rebellious thoughts in mind but needed to play it cool in order to make their way into the palace. “Hardly human”, is what Digardly thought when he looked at the Witch/Queen in her most ambient presence amongst them. (46). She had finally shown her true colors. Uncle Andrew was quite the avid magician but he had never quite seen anything as such before.

Andrew began to think he could foolishly fall in love with the wicked Witch/Queen as foolishly as it was. His black magic had begun to play tricks on his mind as he stated, “Andrew, my boy”; he said to himself as he looked into the glass, “you’re devilish well-preserved fellow for your age, a distinguished looking man sir.” (49). Aunt Letty was able to see beyond this foolishness and stated, “Rubbish”, turning to the Witch, yelling, “Get out of my house this very moment you shameless hussy or I will call the police.” (49). It was at that very moment that the powerful Witch seemed to lose some of her powers over the people amidst the real world. The family realized though the Witch was loose in London with Uncle Andrew and was wary of what would happen to him without their protection.

“Ho Hemperess, how are you? We’ll see about that?” said a voice then another calmly came in and added, “Three Cheers for the Hempress Colney ‘Atch”. (58). The rest of the crowd joined in and the Witch began to beckon her pardon as the crowd ranted on. It was a miracle as the Witch’s voice for once appeared to be somewhat happy. She did rant and rave that the townspeople would pay dearly for her demise once she had conquered the world. She stammered on that none of the city not even a stone would be left unturned when she was done with her demise.

As the night wrestled in, Diggory stated, “Perhaps we’ve gotten into the wrong charn?” The witch chanted, “This is an empty world not the wrong churn.” (60). The witch had not given up her old malicious and nasty ways by any means but was forced to put them on hold for the time being.

Uncle Andrew stated to the children, “Now we’ve got to get rid of that woman.” (67).It was quite clear that the Witch was lurking in the woods and Uncle Andrew’s awkward tripping over the roots of the tree was merely a preface to the harm the witch could cause if she were left to wander around the neighborhoods.

A river wandling with trees and colors and birds lay sloped gently up to the horizon beyond the hills. The entire valley of Narania stretched out just where there was a great gleam of the sea. There were tiny jagged mountains and the plains looked like the world had only commenced just today with freshness, lack of vain and pure tranquility.

The children suddenly heard the largest erk of a blood tinged sound from the forest not withstanding if it came from the lion or the forest. The voice was saying, “Narnia, Narnia, Narnia, think speak, be divine waters, be talking beasts!” (70). Diggory asked, “But what on earth are we to do?” (86). He knew not what to do with his new found paradise of tranquility, freedom and beauty-Narnia.
