The Culture of Expansionism and America’s Modern Foreign Relations Policy, Essay Example

The idea of “America to the world” has often been coined as the primary role that USA takes especially when it comes to identifying their character as part of the development that other countries encounter. Notably, since the beginning of the 1980’s, the condition by which the American society exists is directed towards becoming an aid to the progress of others who are seemingly still developing. Just after the war years, it was the desire of the American administrators to present their country as the source of hope for many others who are struggling to make an identity that would best define them as a nation.

Extending their role from providing educational assistance to assuming military control over the possible unrest in most of these countries, America has made it a point that they are able to create a reputation for its nation and its people that would remain as recognized even during the times of the other nation’s recovery. The success over this particular approach has affected so many third world countries as they approach the 21^st century. Being a solid alliance of the United States have served as a “pass” for several countries to be an immediate member of the modern trade systems.

Question is, is it really necessary for the American nation to put so much effort in expanding its impact from its own people towards the residents of other countries around the globe? Is it plainly for the benefit of the national alliances of America or are there underlying political agendas behind the said operations of assistance? The reason behind the constant involvement of America with other countries especially when it comes to matters of military unrest are still unclear and undefined up to this day. Speculations have always loomed over the desire of the nation to protect the rights of smaller countries and assist them in their way  towards progress. Nevertheless, there is always one specific matter to consider, the relationship that America has with other countries place them in a vital position not only in the aspect of world trade systems but also in the aspect of world military relations which serves both as a protection and solid stand for the country and its people in the face of international camaraderie.
