The reality behind the idealism of the American Dream provides a distinct hope for the many members of the society; not only the ones staying in the US but even to the ones existing outside the territories of the nation. Relatively, the coining of the term ‘the American Dream’ came from the desire of determining the ways by which humans reach their dreams and hopes alongside the capacity of the American society to provide what the community deserves to receive from the operations of the society. Practically, these idealisms impose on the possibility of humans taking the hopeful option of developing a sense of control on how they define their position along the concept of success that the world itself imposes.
However, through time, such idealism is being strongly realized differently especially as it becomes redefined through the distinct changes in the society. Notably, humans have realized slowly that because of the social adjustments happening in the world, the real prospects of the American Dream are slowly being taken against the actual situations that are occurring in the world today. The emergence of what is considered as the modern world and the advancements it is enveloped with defines the concept of development that the society is learning to embrace. Along with such changes is the emergence of massive immigration culture among individuals coming from different parts of the world towards a single destination, usually the US, a community that promises a great hope for determining and reaching one’s dreams. Accordingly, immigrants coming from different parts of the world expect to be given the chance to develop a sense of control on how they gain the possible options of improving the way they reach out to their goals and the dreams they have set for themselves to complete.
True to its sense, way past the years beyond the emergence of industrial revolution in the country, people have become more dauntingly involved in making adjustments in their lives as they take their chances in embracing a new life. Practical options of growth have been among the most contradicting factors that have raised questions on how the real dreams of the people are being catered to. Practically, the American political administrations have embraced the different possibilities of improving the condition of the nation’s lifestyle based on how they understand the reality behind the possibilities and options of personal progress that the authorities hope to provide to the members of the society that they direct and assist for progress.
Behind the capacity of the nation’s administrators to provide what is needed by the society is the desire to get the best out of what the nation’s people could give as the form of force that is needed to improve the sense of operation that the government follows especially dedicated towards the progress that is desired for the whole country. There are, however, some instances when amidst the advancement of the supposed systems that allow humans to realize their best capacities of growth, the humans working behind such grand operations fall victim to the oppression that comes alongside the development of how the society functions at present.
Observably, reality imposes on the fact that those aiming to improve their ways and their options of living are the ones who are usually caught in the middle of their dreams and the desire to survive the challenges that life itself offers in a daily basis. People flooding into the country are supposedly hoping to be given the chance to embrace a new life, a new chance at defining themselves fully. However, they fail to realize the fact that when it comes to dealing with competition in the country, they come as the minors who are usually set aside especially when it comes to the emergence of new work opportunities that are directly offered for skilled individuals to fill. Aiming to simply survive everyday challenges, immigrants, standing as the minorities of the community, often take every open opportunity that is possible for them to fill in.
Immigrants often become oppressed in work areas; set aside and considered as minorities who are less given the chance to take the proper opportunity that could change their lives accordingly. Practically, immigrants are able to stay within the line and are kept within the limits. Most often than not, it is because of the stereotype they receive from the society and the marking that they get from the people that makes it harder for them to actually receive the chance to realize their dream.
Apart from the immigrants are the actual local residents of the country. Considerably, because of the rising number of immigrants in the country, there are individuals among the local residents who believe that the job opportunities supposedly created for them are being stolen buy immigrants coming within the territories of the nation. Likely, it could be realized that the emergence of competition in work opportunities make it even harder for both immigrants and local residents to realize the reality of their dreams and the possibility of becoming more effective in reaching their goals.
Notably, as realized from this discussion, it could be observed that both the local residents and immigrants are not able to realize the true meaning of the American dream simply because of the fact that the competition among the said individuals are tough enough to redefine the path of improvement that the world takes into account especially when it comes to mandating what good living conditions is about. Most often than not the willingness of the people to adjust to the society they are living accounts for the condition by which the dream of each individual is reached and realized. Accordingly, such instance is hard to realize especially in terms of redefining the vision of the world towards what the American Dream is all about.
