The old order at Shell retail business involved the perception of the primary clients as dealers with the mandate of operating their retail side in contrast to the several millions of people who delivered the product to the company. The decision point was put where the work was performed and builds control into the process. This principle was achieved through introduction of global management of the business structures (Amaral, Anderson & Parker, 2011).

The company also treated the geographically dispersed resources as though they were centralized. This was achieved through introducing differentiated products across the globe after an extensive consumer research. Every major market of the company’s products across the globe was supplied with premium fuels on the basis of value proposition from the clients. The daily management of the company’s retail site was changed to facilitate the management of company affairs who expressed interests towards the success of the company.
