The purpose of feasibility studies is to determine the advantages and disadvantages of particular processes (Georgakellos et al., 2009). It is important to determine whether certain procedures would be beneficial before initiating them before the time and financial investment is provided. Feasibility is a broad consideration, with many factors going into it, including technical, legal, operational, economic, and schedule feasibility. Overall, it is important to consider that many different aspects go into the consideration of the feasibility of a systems engineering project and that depending on the extent of the plans, it is necessary to gain comprehensive details regarding the potential process to ascertain whether it is worthwhile and would therefore lead to profit.

The results of the feasibility analysis should determine the time constraints relative to costs of a particular project. This will allow the organization to determine in turn which human and physical resources are needed to achieve its completion and what the what the output of this project would be (Justis et al., 1979). It is beneficial to conduct a feasibility analysis to avoid engaging in production of waste. Thus, to engage in lean practices, it is necessary to conduct feasibility analyses to protect the productivity of the organization. It is valuable for organizations to invest in studies of feasibility in order to effectively predict what is needed in a particular operational process. Doing so requires a time and personnel investment, but these feasibility calculations can often be used in future situations. Overall, the use of feasibility studies is a beneficial process in operations and manufacturing and should be regularly implemented to confer success in the organization and enhance practices of the industry.
