Importantly, Unified Medical Language Systems are databases consisting of software tools pertaining to specific knowledge resources. However, various standards and frameworks seem to have more staying power than others as in many of the sciences. For example, the technology actually is a comprehensive compilation of distinct language applications for biomedical sciences. The standards and frameworks, which seem to have more staying power than others pertain to the control mechanism employed in language usage (Geller, Morrey, Xu, Halper, Elhanan, Perl, & Hripcsack, 2009).

The mechanism allows for a specific mapping structured to be employed among different vocabularies. Translations occur, which are not generally known to all participants in the science because they may not be entitled to that knowledge exposure. Significantly, some analysts have described Unified Medical Language Systems as a compendium due to its limited classification of knowledge in some areas and extension in others thereby no uniformity could be identified in terminologies used to describe processes in the science. Precisely, the intention is for this language system to be translated for utilization in medical informatics. This could be the main reason for various standards and frameworks seeming to have more staying power than others. It could be deliberate due to the technological applications (Geller et.al, 2009).

Yet another assumption related to various standards and frameworks seeming to have more staying power than others in my opinion lay in the numerous errors emerging from processing techniques employed in the scientology. These revolve around ambiguity, hierarchical relationship cycles, redundancy; sematic inversions and missing ancestors, which all add to the complexity of effectively managing the system (Geller et.al, 2009).
