Narrative Report

On November 15, 2006, at approximately 1445H, I received a radio call regarding a vandalism in progress at 6221 Wood Street. Incident was reported by Tammy Myers and she reported that her boyfriend is in pursuit of the suspect, currently northbound on Main Street. Suspect was described as a white male with blond hair and wearing a red shirt and tan pants. As we approached the intersection of Fanwood and Ash, about 3 blocks from the residence of the victim, I observed a white male with blond hair and wearing a red shirt running west on Fanwood and another man wearing a green shirt is observed running about 25 yards behind the first man. I called their attention and ordered them to stop, at which they both readily complied. I immediately called dispatch and advised them of my actions. Shortly thereafter, Officer Guidry came into the radio and advised that the vandalism involved a brick thrown into the living room window. Officer Guidry also stated that the suspect’s name is David Lockwood and he was the victim’s former boyfriend.

Upon closer inspection of the suspect, I observed some red brick dust on his hands. The man chasing the suspect introduced himself as John Runyan. According to Runyan’s statement, he saw the suspect throw a brick through the living room window. He also said that he chased the suspect from the house and never lost sight of him. He also stated that suspect used to date his current girlfriend and was pissed off when they broke off. Upon asking the suspect his name, he stated “I really am sorry, but I still hate her”. At this point, a radio call was received from Officer Guidry stating that he has recovered a brick from the victim’s living room. Suspect was immediately placed under arrest and an identification card was found in his wallet in the name of Dave Lockwood. Suspect was then transported to jail by Officer Jim Barnes.

I went back to the victim’s house to confer with Officer Guidry and to get another statement from the victim. Ms. Myers works as a waitress at Joe’s Burgers and she confirmed that she used to date the suspect and broke up with him sometime in August because she perceived him as weird. Evidence gathered by Officer Guidry such as the brick and photos of the broken window were also taken in.
