Coursework

Through this team-based experience, I have acquired a number of important and meaningful skills that I will use to move forward in my career. It is difficult to develop a leadership approach within a team environment without the appropriate level of confidence and support from fellow team members, and with this experience, I have learned that this process requires much trial and error in order to identify the correct balance with which to make an effective contribution. I believe that there must be a strong emphasis on the continued growth and development of each team member and to “spread the wealth” of experience and knowledge throughout the team. I have learned that each individual brings his or her own set of strengths to the team and strives to be successful in meeting the intended objectives in a positive and meaningful way. Each team member must feel important to the team and aim to make a difference in the best possible way. This will promote a greater level of confidence and support among team members that will carry the team as it moves forward with the tasks at hand.

From a collaborative point of view, I believe that there must be a greater emphasis on working together to meet mutually designed goals and objectives and to encourage participation from all team members to make a difference in the team’s overall outcomes. There must be a significant emphasis on idea sharing and communication within the team environment to support collaboration and a feeling of self-worth within the team dynamic. This is a critical factor in the development of the team and its overall direction and focus. I also believe that there are other issues within the team setting which provide a learning curve for all members and support an understanding of the needs of the team and its individual members. All members must be able to focus on the tasks at hand and be able to learn from these experiences and apply them in future teams. Therefore, lessons learned within a team serve to frame future experiences and provide support in addressing individual strengths.

I have learned much from the team experience that I will apply to my future practice setting, as there are critical factors that will impact my ability to make a difference in the future. I must possess the level of confidence that is required to bring out the best of each team member and to provide full support at all times. As my leadership skills develop, I believe that I will grow and thrive in future leadership roles and will apply the knowledge that I have acquired in this process to make a difference. I must be able to trust my instincts in this process and aim to be effective in sharing my ideas and knowledge, and in becoming more assertive with each and every team experience. This will facilitate my growth and understanding of different issues within nursing practice and to apply my knowledge and skillset to overcome these problems as best as possible. This is an important personal and professional step to take in order to be fully successful in the leadership role and to apply a variety of conditions to maximize my full potential as a professional nurse.

I will adapt to my professional environment with the knowledge that I have acquired as I move forward in my nursing career. This will be achieved through knowledge sharing and educating others regarding the importance of evidence-based practice and leadership in this capacity. This is an important step in my role as a staff nurse, because in spite of my leadership aspirations, I love working with patients at the bedside and in providing treatment in this capacity. Therefore, I will continue this work and aim to share my knowledge and resources in other ways that will have an impact on the nursing profession. It is important to me to develop a strategy where I am able to balance these roles and to recognize the needs of my patients at a high level in order to meet expectations and to take the steps that are required to expand my growth and knowledge of nursing practice and bring it back to my patients full circle in the bedside environment.

I believe that in working with my patients at the bedside, I will be able to make a valuable contribution in meeting their needs and in advancing my own expectations as a professional nurse in this capacity. Through this exercise, I have learned to recognize some of my strengths and limitations that will drive my career as I move forward and pursue my career in the nursing profession. I possess excellent communication skills, am highly motivated, and am very detail-oriented. Therefore, I must demonstrate these skills in different ways and provide my patients with a high degree of hope and satisfaction as I move forward in my career. It is important to me to stay focused and driven at all times, as this reflects my ability to overcome obstacles and challenges in my career that could ultimately impact my overall ability to be effective in achieving my professional objectives.

I must continue to expand my knowledge in a number of areas, including but not limited to evidence-based practice and cultural competence, as these areas will continue to grow and expand in my own practice portfolio. In addition, I must be able to work towards a framework that will capitalize on my ability to be effective in collaborations with others and in exercising my leadership skills in a helpful manner. It is important to me to understand my own motivations in nursing and to recognize the value of supporting my patients through my work and with the knowledge that will drive my career to the next level. This is an important step in my own path of discovery and in my ability to recognize the value of meeting my own expectations for my career as I move forward. I believe that I will continue to be effective in this capacity and make a difference in my field as a professional nurse, as this will facilitate my growth and practice knowledge at a high level. It will also impact my long-term goals and objectives to expand my role as a leader in the nursing profession and provide me with the tools and resources that are required to make a difference in the lives of my patients.
