The power in politics is simple because the candidates cannot run for any office without financial support. The power is those parties that received the most support from a specific part of society. The positional power in politics is the people that are in politic jobs that have power. The campaign manager for the presidential candidate is one the most powerful people in the processing. The legitimate power goes to the presidential candidate who is running for office. The power maybe temporary but during the voting for a new president they still have temporary power. The lobbyist have reward power because the more they help their industry get the laws changes or enter on the books, the more power the lobbyist can gain.

The experts in the political industry have power because they can predict and analyze the voting patterns and how to overcome public opinion and make up votes. One of things that is important in the political process is referent power which the campaign managers and public marketing representations have figure out can equal votes.  The best example is the presidential candidate that has that charming personality and charisma that appeals to the voters.  The referent power comes into play when the nation is watching a debate between candidates and one candidates does a terrible job in debating. However, the win the public approval because they respect and identify with the candidate.   The candidate understands that the referent power can be the difference between victory and losing at the polls. It is clear that if the candidate is likable, but does not appear to have integrity, he or she may still rise to power based on his referent power qualities.
