One of the main reasons why English is necessary at Al Faisal University is because compositions help in developing one’s English skills. It is critical to remember that the world has become a global village meaning everyone and everything is interconnected. From this perspective, one can reason that in order to fit into the wider world population one must learn the language. Statistics show that English is one of the most widely used language in the world. This means that in order to interconnect and be part of the wider community one has to learn English. In this sense, compositions play a crucial part in building ones reading and writing skills. Through compositions, one learns how to express themselves and pass his ideas in an understandable manner. Compositions help in learning and building one’s tenses verbs adverbs among other important English notes. However, it is also important to consider the fact that the level of English differs between different speakers in the university.

The level, in this case, differs because of the fact that Arabic is the most common spoken language in the country. Because of this, compositions help lectures in gauging and judging which students needs more class in English. Being an international university, students come from all over the world. This means that everything taught in the university is taught in English because English is considered a common language. Considering this fact, it is important to note that with compositions, students can be able to develop their English skills.
