Lockout/Tagout in Mining provides the reader with instrumental safety procedures that will help them perform their jobs well while remaining safe. As such, the suggestions proposed include conducting rigorous training programs that appeal to LOTO safety regulations, a one padlock and one key policy, and addressing workers of major safety issues if they arise in addition to how they should respond to the warning to avoid falling victim. Overall, the article provides the reader with a concise plan to help them achieve safety while on the job. However, it is more beneficial for safety managers to read this and similar articles so they are aware of how to best support their workers. While the list of safety protocols is not comprehensive, it does provide a good basic list that most safety managers should follow as a part of regular practice and incorporate into the safety training programs they require for employees.

The article supports the concepts presented in the textbook, which is evident based on its discussion of the role of safety managers (Goetsch, 2013). It is essential for these individuals to be aware of workplace regulations, such as the OSHA program, and to ensure that employees are constantly aware of the conduct and physical protections that should be provided to them on the work site. Therefore, this article is representative of the research that safety managers should conduct on a regular basis to address workplace issue before they occur. Based on the organization of the article, there is not a clear cut conclusion.
