A Focus on Empowering the Role of Nurses in the Community Healthcare Promotion
Background Information
Nurses and their function in the community are known to be specifically connected with the idea of “helping others” realize their healthcare needs and providing accordingly for such requirements for survival. It is not only in the hospitals that nurses could be found. Likely, nurses serve the society through different assumptive procedures that are designed two give them a proper view of their healthcare necessities and inform them on how they would be able to accomplish their personal requirements for survival through healthy and mindful living. This is the reason why nurses are often called the backbone of social healthcare (Reverby, 1998). In the presentation that is to be discussed in this paper, a relative condition on how the function of nurses as healthcare guards of the society shall be further explored in the aim of making a definite path of change as to how nurses approach the need to inform and equip the people with the right knowledge they need to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
A part of this particular plan, the creation of the most effective form of knowledgeable source that could allow the most efficient way from which the society is specifically able to manage their resources and learn so much from the social assumptions of the nurses to make it easier for the people to learn about the basic issues of health development that they are likely involved in. With the utilization of modern technology and modern communication procedures, it could be considered that sending out worthy information to the public would be easier to accomplish (Radcliffe, 2000). The collaboration of direct messaging and online-based operation specifically increases the competence of the proposed program to provide a better source of modern development for the course of imposing progress on the health status of the society being better defined.
Purpose of Change
Many people today think that being healthy means eating “good food” and “living the life”. Little do they know that it is the simple regular things that they consider to do every day that marks the integrity of the status of their health (Delucia, et al, 2009). This is a fact that imposes on the thought that even those in the “poor sectors” of the society are capable of being healthy. Helping the society see the reality of becoming and staying healthy creates a more definitive approach that insists on the course of development from which the people would be able to benefit best from their daily activities as they protect themselves from having to spend too much just so to have healthcare checkups and treatments. Teaching the society how to take care of their health in the simplest most effective manner could relatively create a more responsive attitude from the people coming from all walks of life. This change entails to strengthening the role of the nurses in the community as a united support group that imposes better healthcare culture hence lowering down the expenses that are directed towards healthcare procedures that the government has to provide for.
Intended Outcome
It is hoped that in the process of implicating such change, more would be able to see and understand how they could adjust their lifestyle so as to make sure that they are living healthy lives and that they are protecting themselves from health dilemmas that could cost them high expenses that are most often than not hard to handle. Giving ample information to individuals through community orientation services about the early symptoms of some common ailments and how to treat them equips every individual a chance to save himself from health dilemmas both on medical procedures and the expenses that are tied along with it (Chinn, 2008) .
As a result to a more knowledgeable society, it is assumed that the lowering down of rate of hospital patients be achieved. With people knowing how to deal with their own personal healthcare dilemmas and how to take care of themselves and their families to avoid the occurrence of such problems, it is hoped that the healthcare integrity of the society would increase into a competent level of knowing what is right and what is wrong in becoming more endowed to their healthcare needs.
Relative Connection to Nursing Role in the Society
This change simply empowers the function of the nurses in the society as they open their services to communities that are most often than not having low understanding about their health. Explaining to them how the body works in a scientific manner, showing them slide shows, visual aids and materials that could better increase their understanding of the body’s functions could provide them a better vision on how to take care of themselves and their families (Dorschner, 2010). This way, the function of the nurses as the backbone of social healthcare becomes evidently effective while the society responds to such campaigns.
With the intended role of modern communication in the process of imposing the new program, the course of creating a more in depth role of the nurses in the assumption of health growth that the community needs. The practicality of the application of modern technology is directed towards further imposing a more consistent approach to improving the status of nurses in the society (Donahue, 2010). Opening the doors to communication as assumed by this suggestion is creating a more defined manner from which the role of the nurses is further strengthened.
Conclusion
While current campaigns for healthcare awareness in communities are deemed to be quite effective, their impact on the personal conviction of individuals in the society with regards the need to take care of their health seem to be quite appalling. This is the reason why this change in approach is expected to change the attitude and the personal perception of each individual with regards the manner by which they live and protect their health from incurring particular dilemmas that would later on cause larger problems if not treated immediately with an accurate process for recovery. With the empowerment of the utilization of digital materials to present the information to the public [especially to those who are unfortunate in garnering education hence making them handicapped in understanding technical matters about healthcare], it is expected that the discussions would be easier to understand and the application of the learned issues easier to compensate with.
