Chief Attending Nurse, Personal Statement Example

I am a nurse at the hospital, and I have a general concern as to the behavior of the Chief Attending nurse (CAN) that is stationed at my unit, which is the sub acute unit. My complaint is based on the fact that a scenario occurred in which I was incriminated for a an incident that I was not at fault but mainly based on the fact that the nurse may have pre-meditated her actions based on her probable dislike for me.

A patient wrote a statement that I had forcefully medicated him with a nebulizer, which was far from the truth as I had taken the time to inform the patient on the essential need for the use of the nebulizer at the time, and it was prior to the use of the instrument. The statement was written in a manner to suggest that I had done it out of malice, which is far from the truth. My main concern is the fact that this unit had had a prior incident in which a nurse has been fired on the basis of an incident that is similar to mine and I feel I am a victim of the same case.

My intention is not to slander the CAN, but to bring your attention to the fact that such a case has occurred before with the same CAN, and I feel that I have been in a situation I may be fired on the basis of her possible dislike for me, which I feel is unfair and unjustified. This matter will need to be reviewed as I feel that I have a high standard of morals as well as integrity and I would not cause bodily harm to any patient regardless of the situation. I am pleading that I be moved to another part of the hospital, as I cannot work with the same CAN, as her actions are high inappropriate and contrary to what the hospital stands for.
