The conflict between individuals in a relationship is complex enough to handle especially because of the differences that each person has compared to each other. Relatively, these differences create a distinct impact on how each partner see the other especially in the idea of making a distinct impact on how they intend to manifest a presentation of how they show their affection towards each other. This conflict is even further affected by particular physical differences that the mates may have. This aspect of developmental condition in most human relationships has been featured in the movie Children of a Lesser God. In this 1977 film provided a good sense of what mutual conflict is about and how it could be resolved due to the existence of pure affection.
The movie features a deaf woman who falls in love with her teacher. The conflict existed because of the communication barrier that the two individuals have between each other. Would love be able to conquer such differences? Through the full theme of the movie the assumption of what is meant by compatibility has been presented accordingly. This enhances the presentation of a message that would directly improve the understanding of individuals towards what makes up relationship conflicts and how they could be resolved accordingly.
The movie represents how the goal of one mate may be in conflict with another. Sarah, the deaf woman, was being convinced by her partner James to talk and to be more concentrated on how she embraces the possibility of speaking again. While the motive of James was evidently positive, Sarah saw it as a sense of determinable sense of discriminating her. Because of being deaf all her life, she knew how to live with it and accept it as part of her being. Practically, getting her out of this particular situation gives her the idea that she is being discriminated, separated away from what she has been used to.
Living together as a couple proved to be a distinct source of competence in relation to how two individuals make a definitive impact on each other’s being. The adjustments are expected to happen accordingly. However, it could not be denied that such adjustments are not easy to come along especially if the two individuals have distinct differences that serve as barriers to their being completely relatively connected to each other. The conflict between Sarah and James are specifically affective of how they deal with each other and how they grow together. Going beyond what is expected from two individuals who are supposedly connected to each other requires consistent understanding of the weaknesses and strengths of each person especially if they are aiming to retain the mutual understanding that is established as the foundation of their relationship.
In the movie, the contemplation of the adjustment between the partners [Sarah and James] was evidently affected by the personal connection they have and the understanding they are willing to give to each other, especially in terms of embracing a new sense of what cooperative relationship is all about. In this movie, love is seen to be strong enough to direct the couple to see beyond their differences and work through their differences. Working through these conflicts is expected to give the couples a chance at developing a better sense of each other’s being in the aim of giving each other a better sense of who they are, what they can do and how much further they can improve.
