Essay

During these weeks, our group keeps working on our project. At first we try to contact the CSSA (a Chinese student organization in Clark University and WPI).We want to help them to hold the Spring Festival Party. However Jacky met with the president of CSSA, the president said their organization only need ‘financial help’. So we cannot do anything meaningful for them and we cannot improve our management skills at all. We gave up the first original decision. Then, we ran several meetings to discuss which organization we can help. Scarlett bring into contact with ‘Liberty in North Korea’ by the North Korea club in Clark University. This club, which was established in Clark University recently, offered us an opportunity to help them announce their organization in our university. In response to this, we will run a series of activities to help this organization.

Last Feb 16th, our group met with members from North Korea Club in Clark University. This is our first meeting. The members told us what we should do in this project. The lack of concentration from public is the biggest problem. In the end of March, this organization will invite two or three professional speakers to hold a lecture in order to introduce North Korea Club in our university. There have been a series of misconceptions about North Korea that has been existent in the university for the past years. Noticeably, these misconceptions are able to make a definite insistence on the wrong reputation that the country gets from the society with which most individuals are basing their judgments from. It was during this meeting that we have drafted what the organization is about and how its value should be recognized accordingly especially for the sake of making a definite course of presenting the right details about North Korea that will serve as a source of social enlightenment for the community. What makes this process more effective is the way the group hopes to present North Korea in a different light; one that is less dependent on the culture of communism and directive governance. Besides the lectures [which are more formal], there would also other activities that would be created in order to make sure that the presentation of data would be fully understood and properly grasped.

Noticeably, before this lecture, we need to help them to get more attention. So contacted Jake Mattleman who is the assistant director of admissions to get the permit to hold the bake sale on Open House. This will not only give them a better sense on how they are likely to be recognized by the university, they are also expected to be supported accordingly with what they need especially in raising a reflexive funding that would give them a better sense on how they ought to direct their activities especially for the sake of mandating a more improved insistence on how they are to reach their goals as an organization.

Among the activities to be included into the process would be a fund raising process through selling cupcakes and pastries in the university on March 26, 2015. The preparation for the activity shall be held early on. It is expected that this activity would help the organization get the attention it needs from the university population. This fundraising activity would be accompanied by a small cultural trade fair that would make it easier for the population to immerse into the culture of North Korea more effectively. Featuring the products coming from North Korea and other cultural items created from the country, this fair and pastry sale is expected to make it easier for the public to simply accept what the nation has to offer especially when it comes to making the society realize more about North Korea other than what they have already presumed the nation is all about.

With the completion of this activity, the lecture shall be pursued accordingly. It shall be introduced to the university population through the use of social networking announcement and paper-bill campaign which will be distributed to the students. These campaigns are supposed to get the attention of the people and have them interested in joining the lecture. To make the lecture more robust and interesting, several presentations are to be held which include animated videos and other visual and interactive presentations that are dedicated towards creating a more definite path in making sure that the North Korea Club would make a good impression to the target audience.
