Communication in Leadership Roles, Business Proposal Example

There are many different forms of leadership with varying degrees of application in the business world. Communication in a leadership role, however, is key to becoming effective a business manger. In all leadership roles (e.g. emergent, situational, true authentic, etc.) the key component to personality archetype is proper communication. The topic is important to me because without proper communication (in business circles, emails, letters, newsletters, phone conversations, meetings, networking, etc.) the point of any proposal, proposed topic, change in a departmental or organizational capacity, becomes moot.

I plan on doing a research study on how communication has been handled by different top business executives, as well as top companies, in the above listed delineation of business leaderships roles. The communication between employer and employee will be central to the research as a company cannot properly and appropriately function unless communication is succinctly expressed. My presentation of this subject will include a power point presentation (with speaker notes) because the crux of my argument is that technology is changing the ways that people and business communicate with one another. Email messages have taken the place of weekly meetings, and telecommuting to places of employment has become standard in a lot of tech jobs. Thus, in order to emphasis the new standard of communication, it behooves me to involve the technology in my presentation: thereby making technology a crux of my communicative skills in leading a presentation. Ultimately, what I wish to accomplish is to showcase different leadership roles and how each roles requires of its definition to incorporate communication in a technological world in different ways.
