Defining Art, Article Writing Example

What is art? What does it represent? And how is its value weighed? Art is basically understood as the process of expression that humans take into account especially when they have the right skill to be set as partnered with the opinionated ideas they may have in mind. Artists from all ages share one specific desire, to share what they can do with others and hopefully to send out a message that would specifically allow people to see and understand how an artist looks at matters surrounding him. In the past decades, artists’ works are highly respected and valued for the main meaning that they portray. It is as if each piece mirrors the creator, not only his opinion but also his personal being. Considerably, works of Leonardo Da Vinci and Antonio Cavallucci all go to several national museums, priced for their authenticity and the fact that they do tell a story of the bits and pieces of history that characterized the time when they first worked on the said art forms.

Relatively, through the years of artistic revolutions around the globe, it has been realized how artists made a name in the industry through keeping their styles intact as mark of their personal trademark. While they create their masterpiece, they make sure that each piece bears not only their name but the overall character of their work. Most often than not, it could be realized that this careful attention to detail that establishes their trademark is what serves as the determining factor when it comes to putting value to their works. Artists specifically gain both attention and profit from their work through assuring authenticity.

However, because of the emergence of modern technology, there developed several ways by which people could already reproduce printed works. Considerably, it could be understood that somehow, there are instances that when such assumptive measures of reproduction is envisioned to create a particular impact on how art is actually being valued at present. Relatively, with such capacity to reprint everything in mass numbers, the fear of losing artistic authenticity is becoming a real threat to the art industry. Most likely, such threat implies on the possibility of losing both authenticity and value of created arts even those that have been specifically kept for a very long time which specifically defines the overall history of arts and times.

With all these conditions given attention to, it is then asked whether or not modern media and printing technology does help or endanger the status of world arts? As seen from the examples of modern art and those others that are being reprinted for mass production for the sake of mass purchase, it could be realized how modern technology and reprinting activities do create a changing pattern by which how art works are being valued. Distinctively understood to have a specific value based not on how many would appreciate them, but on how many would actually buy the reproduced pieces. Improving art sales through this manner is specifically making a distinct impact on the real value of art in the modern market.

Overall, it could be realized that the value of arts in changing times has a great impact on how art is defined through the pages of human history. If back in the days, the capacity of an artist is based on the willingness of an artist to work hard on piece-by-piece volume, today, artists are acknowledged according to the way they impact the society based on modern conditions of presenting their ideas and getting the public react to their works accordingly. It is as if the value of a particular art piece is determined neither by the hard work nor the detail that an artist put into creating the said piece; instead, the value is determined on how much acceptable the pieces are in the market. Most likely, it is with this particular fact that modern and classical art are being determined in relation to the differences of the valuation strategies used to define the said aspects of artistic presentations specifically expected to make a distinct indication on how these pieces identify their position in part of human history.
