Background

The chosen organization is a financial organization that is aimed at providing financial services to its customers. The organization is a service based, and customer contact is integral in the operations of the organization. The conduct of employees, therefore, directly affects the quality of services provided and as such employee conduct must conform to the expectations of the customers to guarantee satisfaction. The role of an organizational manager in such an organization is to provide an analysis of the situation of the organizations and make recommendations that are aimed at improving the performance of the organization. Additionally the organizational consultant also identifies problems within the organization and provides solutions for such problems.

Description of the problem

The current problem at the organization is lack of effective communication strategies. Effective communication is instrumental in organizational success, and every organization must have an effective communication strategy. The absence of this communication strategy results in unclear organizational goals, ineffective management and provision of unsatisfactory services. Communication and more so effective communication are critical in service related organizations as the organizations employees are in constant touch with customers and, therefore, must communicate in a manner that is satisfactory to the customers. The current situation does not allow for clear communication as there are a lot of challenges and barriers to this process. These barriers include the lack of differentiation of roles, lack of proper communication tools as well as lack of proper techniques to communication (O’Rourke 2009).

Problem statement

Effective communication strategies play an essential role in the determination of organizational performance and, therefore, the organizations employees should adopt these strategies. In order to ensure effective communication strategies, it is imperative to employ communication techniques that facilitate effective communication as well as clarify the duties of each employee.
