Feasibility of Change, Research Paper Example

Words: 342

Research Paper

A feasibility study entails an analysis and appraisal of potentials associated with a proposed course action in an organization on the basis of extensive research as well as investigation to support the decision that has been made. In a situation that a proposed change is genuine and true with the anticipation of addressing the expectations and needs of the customers, the business leaders are obligated to plan for the necessary action that will facilitate introduction as well as implementation of change (Longo, 2011).

During the time of executing this critical and delicate activity, it would be wrong for the business owners to ignore and underestimate that effects that are customarily allied to change couple with the probable adverse as well as angry reaction that may arise from employees. In most cases involving change, employees offer substantial degree of resistance to the initiatives of change that has been initiated by the employer.

Analyzing feasibility of change involves objective and rational scrutiny of the strengths as well as weakness that are associated with the proposed change, and the threats and opportunities that are anticipated out of the change due to the contribution of the resources and the environment as well as success prospects (O’Brien & Marakas, 2011). Analyzing feasibility of change must be able to justify the invariability of the change followed by effective communication of the reasons that warrant that change. Analyzing feasibility of change must also prove that people are not likely to suffer from any form of prejudice once the change has been implemented. Georgakellos & Marcis, (2009) argues that, most scenarios involving change are associated with deterioration and failure and that, very few instances of improvement and success have ever warranted change. Therefore, people are always suspicious whenever change has been proposed.
