Female Divine, Article Review Example

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love, (Greek Gods and Godesses, 2010) beauty and sexuality.  She stepped out of the ocean onto the island of Cyprus and the world had never seen such amazing beauty and impeccable taste.  Aphrodite was also termed by the Romans as the goddess Venus and legend states that she was the daughter of Titan Uranus.  Her most famous son, was that of Eros  the God of love.

As Aphrodite was the goddess of love, passion and unbridled sensuality she has been the modern-day icon for selling cosmetics and perfumes.  The products offer ladies  the ability to radiate a similar breathless charm and alluring smell of sensuality, with  the ability to project an air of self-confidence that will prove irresistible to the opposite sex.

The marketing appeal to the visual and sensual desires of women with the aspiration to be both beautiful and Yuri.  Venus was later adopted by Gillette in their marketing campaign that was aimed at convincing women that they too could become goddesses.  Ironically it was a pink lady shaver useful, creating wonderful smooth women’s legs.  Aphrodite invokes a sense of sexuality a great beauty.  Hence Yves Saint Laurent  were quick to realize the marketing advantages of Aphrodite and sex with the sense of smell.  The selling of a fantasy world as a powerful marketing inducement. Susan L. Taylor (Taylor, 2006), a former editor of the national magazine ‘Essence’ focused attention on the female power of African-American women and empowering black feminism.

Taylor’s most powerful contribution is a monthly column entitled ‘In the Spirit’.  She aimed at  the improvement of the way African-American women view themselves by teaching them how to gain access to their own spirituality and self worth.  African-American women can be  goddess’s  of beauty and Aphrodite.  The magazines inspired 7.2 million readers of  which 50%  are African-American women.

Taylor published over 278 columns with ‘Essence’ and became a motivational speaker across North America at Colleges and African American Women conferences.
