Goals and Expectations, Personal Statement Example

Psychology and the aspects of human behavior have always fascinated me ever since I started my undergraduate studies. Taking an inspiration from the lessons that I have learned and the theoretical basis of human behavior, I have decided to take up a course that would further my understanding about human psychology. Learning the said aspect of human development became a basis for a bigger and more advantageous desire.

Knowing that studying the behavior of people closely could change lives, I hope to utilize my knowledge and profession to assist in the process of keeping social peace and security intact. I have realized that with the proper application of psychology in the field of Criminal Justice, identifying the motives of criminals would be easier, knowing their response to the hows and whys of their action would be much effective. Along with this, avoiding the repeat of crimes by the same individuals would become possible through the implication of the proper conditions of one-on-one counseling.

I do admit though that I have to further improve my personal and professional skills in line with this condition of function if I really want to make a difference in the society. To do this, I decide to continue my undergraduate studies in Psychology particularly focusing on the systems of criminal justice and how psychology applies on the matter as a whole. I do hope that during the process of learning under this course, I would be able to see through the different aspects of psychology and further relate it to my goals in understanding the behavioral sector of criminal justice. Upon finishing the course, it is my utmost goal to apply what I have learned in a fashion that it would provide a sense of advancement in the process of solving and avoiding crimes all at the same time.
