What’s going on or what is the issue at hand?

According to the author policy adaptations seem inadequate in addressing significant health care issues embodied in the affordable care act and provisions accompanying them. The issue clearly is inefficiency and uncoordinated health care services. Payment of a bundled fee for episodes of care is a policy measure recommended to alleviate these discrepancies (Weil, 2014).

Why is it going on?

The path to effective policy intervention isa verydifficultone to travel. Often it takes many trials to accomplish. Weil (2014)contends that healthcareprofessionals have to continue the task of making policies work. Amidst the existing difficulties mistakes are inevitable. Overtime evaluations must be made to adjustment existing discrepancies such as remodeling of current policies for relevance to health care delivery(Weil, 2014).

What is the relevance of the issue or the problem?

The relevance of ineffective policies in healthcareisthat it sabotages the affordable care act’s ability to deliver its expectations to the public.  For example, the Affordable care Act is expected to offer more access to health care at a reasonable cost to every citizen. Therefore, policies indicating accessible services at a fair costs to everyone must be relevant to the public’s needs and affordable care itself. As such, these discrepancies such as suboptimal care and overspending must be addressed through appropriate interventions. Hence, the importance of effective policy adaptations (Weil, 2014).

What can be done about it, if anything can be done?

Two measures could be taken at this point in time. One pertains to redesigning polices that are ineffective. The second pertains to developing strategies for health care professionals to implement policies that already exist. If attempts are made to work polices it can be achieved while decisions are taken to remedy inefficient segments of ones which have become irrelevant.
