Health Care Law as Defense for It Now, Article Review Example

In summarizing this article it is clear that the author focused on communicating to the public,  states abhorrence of being pressured by congress into complying with regulations of the Affordable care Act. While the article’s intent is quite obvious, in my opinion the issue is exaggerated from two standpoints. Firstly, states were offered an option of allowing the federal to intervene in their health care exchanges under Affordable Act specifications or create their own. Thirty states refused the offer. The second point relates to the Supreme Court ruling that the Affordable act regulation violates federal rights and is unconstitutional (Pear, 2015).

In my opinion since options were offered communicating to the public that the Supreme Court ruling might be justified is an exaggeration of the issue pertaining to the true purpose of the affordable act regulations. The Obama administration did not discriminate.  Subsides are available to all states according to the regulations of the affordable care act. Essentially, without the administration taking this action a large amount of Americans would remain uninsured. States should be happy to engage in a program that would enable everyone access to quality health care in America (Pear, 2015).           .

Access to basic healthcare has been lacking for centuries in America. While states think that they are being punished, the legislation makes sense and upholds human right to quality health care in America. It would become an equal access industry/ resource. Within the past decade America’s healthcare has slumped to 37^th from 12^th among developed nations. Regulations such as those espoused in the affordable care act offer solutions to the healthcare crisis in America (Sick around the world, 2008).
