Creative Essay
  1. Do you think medical malpractice should exist? Is it important?

Medical malpractice is an act of negligence on the part of a health care worker. Often it is not deliberate, but may be due to some error emerging either from the clinical information system or misjudgment made by the person executing care. This can rr4esult in serious health consequences included life -long disability and death (Jena, 2011). In countries such a United States of America where health care is very costly medical malpractice ought to exist. The healthcare system ought to be accountable for errors of practice because clients/ customers pay for an error free service.

This is important because if someone has to pay for a service it should be of high quality. While it may not always be possible to offer high quality at least patient must be assured that they receive the service they deserve for their particular condition. Medical malpractice forces healthcare workers to become accountable for the errors they create during interventions

  1. We have such an opportunity and responsibility to lift humanity out of poverty, ignorance, and sickness. Let us not shirk from it simply because we fear being sued.

While it is true that all professionals have an opportunity to lift humanity out of poverty, sickness and ignorance it should be rendered with every degree of safety. In fairness to humanity everyone must feel safe when he/she goes to a physician or specialist that there would be no misdiagnoses. If treatment is prescribed it must be in required doses and the right drug. Medical errors rank high on the list of reasons for wrongful deaths occurring at emergency departments. The fear of being sued should benefit for the patient since it serves as a form of protection. Alternatively, this should not deter health care professionals from rendering care beyond the call of duty because they can be sued.
