Hiring a Professional Employee, Business Proposal Example

Pages: 1

Words: 221

Business Proposal

When selecting the best applicant, the following elements are of vital importance:

  • the quality of the resume;
  • appearance/ dress; and
  • interpersonal skills during the interview.

The resume creates the first impression about the job candidate. The best resume will include a well-written job objective, a clearly written set of qualifications, a direct presentation of professional experience and skills that match the applicant with the job, a chronological presentation of work history, as well as brief and memorable presentation of the relevant education and training. Resumes that contain grammar and spelling mistakes should be rejected at once.

Effective job candidates must have a neat look, possibly follow the company’s dress code, be clean, have minimum personal accessories, and wear a smile. Perfumes must be kept to a minimum. Applicants that look unclean will not be eligible for this type of job. Applicants wearing jeans (for men) and short skirts (for women) will have to be rejected.

Effective candidates are willing to solve problems immediately and answer all questions openly, avoiding irrelevant details. Such applicants discuss the ways they build their relationships with supervisors and co-workers. For example, a good candidate would willingly recollect and discuss a real-life workplace conflict and how he solved it. Effective candidates are calm, focused, pleasant looking, and confident. Too many gestures, long pauses between the answers, aggressive tone, rudeness and cursing are unacceptable.
