What are differences between interpretive research and qualitative research?

Interpretive research is a research that aims at giving the fact about a social or physical phenomenon. It analyzes the complex phenomenon with a view of giving information in the form of a narrative. However, qualitative research in concerned with contemporary issues. Qualitative research highly depends on the role played by the research. What are differences between historical research and interpretive historical research?

Historical research refers to a comprehensive research involving large system of investigation. Historical research is a broad term for interpretations. On the other hand, interpretative research utilizes empirical evidence from the past regarding any social or physical object with an aim of interpreting the phenomenon.[2]

What are differences between writing a story and writing history?

Story writing involves writing a narration on something that happened known to the writer. It may be something of facts or even fiction. Story writing does not require inquiry thus, one can write without bothering to do research. However, history writing involves investigating the past events to gather facts or information to assist in writing narration on findings.[3]

What are differences between discourse and paradigm? pg 149-151

Discourse refers to the different way of reasoning leading to the formation of different meaning of underlined Phenomenon. This explains the ability of a human being to take different stands in understanding the universe. However, paradigm refer to philosophical reasoning that entails a collection of body of scientific principles that guide the way theories, models  in a given field of study, or disciplines are formulated. Paradigms unlike discourse, give the research direction in which to take to avoid violation of the basic principles of accumulation of body of knowledge.[4]
