Introduction

This paper is based on annotated bibliography which gives synopsis of research on various topics that have been conducted in the field of Juvenile delinquency. A total of five articles were selected for this annotation and typified as follows.

Harris-MCkoy, D. & Cui, M. (2012). Parental Control, Adolescent Delinquency, and Young Adult Criminal Behavior. Published by Springer Science Business Media, LLC. The article highlights how the element of parental care influences adolescent delinquency and adult criminal behavior.  The most important issue that is given a biased attention in the article is the influence of adolescence and the role of parents in shaping the life and behaviors of adolescents. The article also gives stronger emphasis on the different parenting approaches and their impact on controlling delinquency and young adult criminal behavior. from the analysis of this article, it is evidenced that parental care significantly influences delinquency and young adult criminal behavior among children. The authors of the article were drawn from Department of Family and Child Sciences of Florida State University (Lerman, 2009).

Preddy, T. Vitulano, M.  Elkins, S. Grassetti, S. & Wimsatt, A. (2012).Perceived best friend delinquency moderates the link between contextual risk factors and juvenile delinquency. Journal of Community Psychology. Published online in Wiley Online Library Vol. 40, No. 6, . The Journal looks at the risk factors  which contribute child delinquency in the society. Special attention is given to factors which emanate from neighborhood issues and negative events in life. The journal reveals how issues such as peer groupings  and actions to taken by the children to report any negative behavior can play role in influencing child delinquency. The journal goes a notch higher to identify neighborhood factors and  associations between children which play role in contributing to  childhood delinquency in the society. The journal was based on a research findings conducted by the aforementioned authors.

Pickett, J., T.  & Chiricos, T. (2012).  Controlling other people’s children: racialized views of delinquency and whites’ punitive attitudes toward juvenile. Criminology, Volume 3. The article highlights how the issues of delinquency and young adult criminal behaviors are preconceived on racial basis. In this light the paper reveals how race based attitude on the issues of delinquency and young adult criminal behavior has interfered with the effectiveness of the juvenile justice system. Elements such as investigations, victimization to violence and prosecution in the juvenile system have been informed by racial judgments. The paper also gives a historical development of the juvenile justice system in the United States. The two authors of the article have worked in criminology departments of various colleges in the USA (Hoghught, 2011)

Chan, H., C. O.  & Chui, W., H. (2012). Psychological Correlates of Violent and Non-violent Hong Kong Juvenile Probationers. Behavioral Sciences and the Law. Published in Wiley Online Library. The article highlights the issue of juvenile probationers in Hong Kong. The study conducted the authors was to establish the relationship between juvenile probationers their criminal history with regards to psychological matters. The study is based on different sets of hypothesis which were used to identify the correlation between violent and non violent probationers. The formulation of the hypothesis used for the study was informed by psychological elements such as social interactions, self esteem, positive and negative effect, life satisfaction and impulsivity. The article also employs different methods of data analysis to interprete its findings. Such methods include multivariate method of analysis to evaluate the disparities in offending histories among juvenile probationers. The method is also used to analyze future expectations in behavior change among the juvenile probationers in Hong Kong.   Analysis of the article reveals that there is a strong correlation between the psychological elements and the behavior of juvenile probationers. The authors of the article are experts in behavioral science and issues of law.

Esfandiari, M., J. & Gambhir,P. (2010). Studies on the Effect of Vocational Education to Solve the Problem of Juvenile Delinquency. International Journal of Educational Administration. Volume 2, Number 1. This journal is based on the studies to solve the problem of juvenile delinquency in the society. The article embraces the fact that juvenile delinquency has become a big problem in the society that needs to be solved. To explicate the idea, the authors defined the term, developed its theory and also gave review of theoretical literature on the topic of juvenile delinquency. An analysis of this journal indicates the two authors conducted a study on how to solve the problem of juvenile delinquency in the society. It therefore identifies the most common measures that have been used in the society to combat the problem such as punishments to correct the juvenile behaviors. The two authors who wrote the journal have worked in the sector of human science in Noor Universit. (Akers,  Krohm and Rodosevich, 2010).
