Generally, the article talks about continuous quality improvement, which is one of the core elements for the international standards certification. It is important to note that various organizations in the world exist and strive to improve on the quality of their goods and services. All these are geared towards attaining maximum customer satisfaction level. The article provides brief history of Edward Deming who is the father of Continuous Quality Improvement. It also gives insight on the components of continuous quality improvement. This includes; its advantages, benefits, and how to implement the CQI teams. The article points out the components of continuous quality improvement as follows: Total quality management, participative management, and total quality improvement, management by objectives, quality circles, performance improvement, and improving the organizational performance among others (Pozgar, 2012, p.532). The essence of implementing CQI at every management level in the organization is enumerated in the article. In addition, the article articulates on the application of continuous quality improvement in healthcare.

Healthcare systems are very crucial in that they touch on the lives of human beings. For this reason, the continuous quality improvement is inevitable. The article highlights on various processes culminating to the continuous quality improvement. This is indeed commendable in that these processes touches on the human resources who are the employees of these organizations, the leadership of the organization, the equipments and materials used, and finally setting right and adhering to the objectives of the organization. The paradigm shift in health care as highlighted in the article from autocratic style to a humanistic approach is indeed in order. However, the pitfalls that are associated with autocratic style may as well occur in the humanistic approach if proper measures are not put in place by the management. The reduction of the turnover rates as well as the boosting of the employee morale for instance depends on the management of the organization. Continuous quality improvement should be adopted in all manufacturing as well as service organizations in that it improves productivity (Wallach, 2011, p.31).
