Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Application Essay Example

As entrepreneurs we keepa close eye on the prevalent state of the world but at the same time we also carry a vision as to where the world should go. But to be able to realize our visions, we have to be extremely passionate about it so that upsets and setbacks do not dampen our spirits and secondly, we should choose a course that is a great fit to our skills and strengths. In addition, even the most brilliant entrepreneurs can’t accomplish their visions by themselves alone and need to know how to efficiently management human and financial capital. An ideamay be brilliant but it is useless unless an entrepreneur has the resources and knows how to effectively use those resources to realize the vision.Moreover, risk is always present but knowledge and insights can significantly help reduce the probability of failure which iswhy I look up tothe Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program. The program will educate me on various aspects of founding and running a company such as entrepreneurial decision-making and creating an innovative organizational culture. I will also learn how to effectively manage human resources which are now arguably the most important asset of any organization.Moreover, I will have access to USC Marshall’s extensive professional network which includes some of Silicon Valley’s most prominent visionaries and tech entrepreneurs.

I am particularly interested in USC Marshall’s MSc. in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program because it strikes exactly the right balance between classroom instruction and real-world learning. The program has been specifically designed for entrepreneurs and as a result, guides them through all the stages including funding, human and financial capital management, and designing the business models that best suit the nature and goals of the business. I could not have been a better fit into the program because my academic and professional experiences already demonstrate my entrepreneurial mindset. I did my undergraduate while maintaining a full-time job at the same time and was already a Founder as well as CEO of a technology company by the time I graduated. At EF Tech Solutions, the company I founded and now lead, I am involved in all aspects of operations from strategy and product developing to marketing and public relations. I have won awards such as National BTEC Business Award 2009 and Edexcel Design & Technology Award 2009 which reflect my embrace of innovation and creativity.
