A Priority Wellness and Recovery Concern

Many online GED students in the wellness and recovery program are concerned that they do not have the ability to balance their life and learning schedule. A growing problem is their accessibility to computers with regards to their knowledge of the learning system. Individuals involved in the wellness and recovery program would benefit to having access to training programs to help facilitate these online learning skills in addition to providing them with a safe and quiet space to engage in their studies. An example of a safe space would be a computer lab that is fully equipped with the tools and information that these individuals require to succeed.

The Need for a Computer Lab

Our organization would benefit from implementing lab with at least five computers in addition to other workspaces in which clients can bring their laptops and mobile devices to prepare for their GED coursework and examination. To improve their ability to succeed, a tutor should be available to guide these individuals through their work and provide them with any support needed. This clientele is more likely to become successful in a GED program when they are provided with assistance to prevent them from becoming overly frustrated and abandoning their goals. Our clients will be better prepared to find jobs after the completion of their GED, so it is in part our responsibility to ensure that they are able to become successful in this process. For example, GEDs are prerequisites for many entry-level management positions.
