Capstone Project

Will you be reporting descriptive statistics? (Note that statistics often are not reported in qualitative research. Explain.

Yes, for this particular research, it is essential that descriptive statistics be used as it does create a distinct indication on whether or not the data that was collected for the research does support a sense of indication on the proper description of the variables needed to support the details needed for the proof that entails the establishment of the study’s main point. This will allow the researchers to specifically mentioned the needed information and themes that are exclusively used to define participants and the relation they have towards the research being completed.

Will you be reporting inferential statistics? Explain.

No; as noted in the details on the methodologies to be carried into consideration in relation to the completion of this project, the variables are in need to be controlled. With inferential statistics, the variables are usually chosen at random therefore controlling them in relation to how they are to affect the data collection method as well as the integrity of the information taken from the said study.

Also, inferential statistics require that the responses be general enough to describe the population being sampled in the study. However, for the aspect of developing this research, specification of data is important. It does create a distinct reaction on how the data collected would be directed towards answering the research-question identified to ma a relative impact on how the research is to turn out.

Will you be testing the null hypothesis in your research? Explain.

No. Since inferential statistics is usually the measuring tool used in a scientific study that tests null hypothesis, this particular research will not need such condition of testing. There are two phenomena usually measured through inferential statistics. For this research though, the focus of understanding is rather centralized allowing instances of random changes along the way to change accordingly.

List the measures you will be using in your research, and name the scale of measurement for each one.

The team plans to use the Earned Value Management or the EVM. For this particular research, EVM application as means of measurement entails to measure the performance of the actors in a particular project being managed and set a comparison of progress that is obtained within the limited resources that are being worked upon. The referential reaction and response on the part of the participants is best measured through this approach.

Performance and progress are two key elements in the field of project management and this is what EVM is practically focused upon. The measurement’s capability to include scope, schedule and costs into the system specifically gives this research the depth needed to identify its capacity to provide the essential data needed for the development of the discussion section.

Will you be measuring one or more variables at the nominal level? Explain.

Nominal data specifically involves the utilization of variable to which no specific value is assigned. This means that nevertheless, such variables would not be affecting the outcome of the research. For this study though, every variable used has an indicative value that specifically identifies the condition of development that provides a distinct impact on the overall result of the research’s final identification of the outcome measured for the completion of the report needed to establish the integrity and validity of the research.

Can you anticipate any considerations that might limit the practical significance of the results you hope to obtain in your study? Explain.

Given that it is quantitative in nature, the research is expected to provide the logical basis of the report alone. It might not be able to examine other points of development that could be related to human-elements that is usually noted through the qualitative approach of research. Most likely, it is assumed that because of this, the competence of the research on defining human behavior as a practical element to explaining the issue being covered in the research might be weak and unable to provide the facts needed for the establishment of a stronger dependable data to be used for determining factors that will lead to better understanding of the study.

Considerably, the involvement of human factors in the identification of the most crucial points of explaining the core data that could support this research could be used to identify whether or not the outcome of the research does provide a distinct indication on how humans manage to complete projects as they are expected to do so. Such element could help the researchers further investigate on how project managements are completed and how their results are highly dependent on particular human factors essential for defining a team’s or an individual’s capacity to complete and progress within a specific scope of task provided for him to finish.
