Michael Jordan has been an epitome of success in athlete thus winning the confidence of most fans as a favorite American athlete in the game of basketball. Michael Jordan was born in 1963 in Brooklyn and later his family relocated to North Carolina as he was a toddler. The games of choice that Michael Jordan played include baseball and basketball although he was more successful in basketball. The Sports Business journal has documented a study that has highly ranked Michael Jordan as an athlete of adoration among many fans. He has therefore won great fame in the game of basketball and has been perceived by many as a role model in this scenario. In fact, majority of the people has conceived Michael Jordan as a celebrity. Although some publications have reported a decline in the popularity of Michael Jordan claiming that, Tiger Woods together with Kobe Bryant are ahead, he remains an athlete to be adored by many people. His popularity is further enhanced by his active role in motivating the young people and being a good role model. He has thence been admired by the young people as a result of the difficult episodes that he has gone through although glorious days have also been a significant feature in his life. Michael Jordan has also been associated with great honor, courage and achievements as important qualities of his life as a renowned basketball player. His personality is also enviable among many people which have also contributed significantly in influencing his society. He has held good NBA records and has been pronounced as the greatest athlete in North America.

Michael Jordan has two brothers called James Jordan and Larry Jordan and two sisters called Roslyn and Deloris. Larry Jordan played a crucial role in influencing him to become a good player in basketball through beating. As a result, Michael Jordan developed the zeal of becoming a good player. He played his first game while he was a high school student and being a sophomore, success never came his way at the beginning. However, his failure did not distract his efforts of ever becoming a good player but he used that misfortune to try harder and more practice. His determinations and zeal for success resulted to success as he sooner rewrote his records as he played in NBA whereby his career had already become glorious. At the age of 55 years, Michael Jordan had earned billion dollars in athlete and was ranked 1741 position of the richest people in the planet by Forbes. This is according to a report that was documented by Forbes. Among other famous billionaires in the planet, Michael Jordan is the only one who is an athlete. Michael Jordan is also associated with product endorsement and as having contributed significantly to the success of the sneakers in Nike’s Air that was initiated in 1985 and their popularity is relevant even to date. He also initiated a film called the Space Jam in 1996. He also partly-owned the Charlotte Bobcats basketball operations where he was also the head.

Michael Jordan has gained significant fame among the millions of sports fans and has therefore been crowned as greatest not only basketball players but also as one of the greatest athletes who has ever played in any professional sport.  Michael Jordan emerged victorious in six NBA championships with Chicago bulls in 1991-1993 and 1996-1998).  His pure domination of basketball is unrivaled to any other athlete who ever played the game.

During the five seasons that the Chicago Bulls lost in playoff rounds. Michael Jordan astounded his fans along with players alike with his style of play in the court.  One theory as to why the Bulls never achieved victory in a championship until later is due to the fact that, Jordan played at a level that was far above his teammates such that, the team was unable to function as a team.

During the third NBA year Michael Jordan accumulated 50 points as the scores in eight diverse times, bringing an end to the season with 3,041 points.  Michael Jordan broke the record at NBA because nobody else had ever scored more than 3,000 points during a single season in its history.  This victory therefore earned Michael the first of seven scoring titles. Michael Jordan has also gained significant global reputation for his dunk from the free throw line in the 1988 all-star dunk contest.  This therefore enhanced his popularity as well as made better stock in Michael Jordan. Everybody admired to “be like Mike.”  Jordan has already become more and more popular across the nation.

As Michael Jordan matured and grew even further and became more wise he played even more for the team than for himself assisting to ignite his team and in the 1990-1991 season they won their first of three consecutive NBA championships.  In 1992 many professional players were permitted to play in the Olympic Games. This gave Michael Jordan an opportunity to team up with other great athletes including Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, as well as Scottie Pippen to win Jordan’s second gold medal.
