The article was written to present the struggle between two pre-scientific views in the area of philosophies, specifically for cognitive psychology. Whilst, the rationalist philosopher’s perspective claims that knowledge is found by looking in one’s self. Thus, there is nothing problematic in education.
The article was written to give the two different views on this philosophical perspective, and give their two contrasting perspectives on the matter of students and learning, with the help and facilitation of teachers.

The argument of the article claims that there is a need for the linking of psychological theory and practice work in order for cognitive development to emerge. Educators need this to be able to facilitate students’ learning, and without this link, educators will backslide onto the traditions of school teaching, and learning cannot be improved.
