I have always wanted to make positive difference in others’ lives. This is why I am motivated to go into radiology so that I can make positive contributions towards successful diagnosis of difficult medical cases. I want to follow my graduate studies in a program that is a great fit to my skills and strengths and I know I will succeed in radiology program because I have enjoyed research experiences in the past. In addition, I also do not limit myself by geography and cultures and have always enjoyed interacting with people from different backgrounds. Not surprisingly, a career in scientific field would appeal to me because science makes great contributions to the progress of the world.

As I learnt more about life and the world, I realized that we are still in infancy when it comes to collective knowledge of mankind and most of the scientific professions such as medical science are still a combination of art and science. Even though medical science technology has come a long way over the last few decades, human experience and intuition are still critical to ensuring the highest quality standards in the provision of healthcare services.

I am a critical thinker and have strong analytical skills which may be why I enjoy tackling complex problems. I give attention to even small details no matter how minor they may seem at first. I am not afraid to ask questions because it doesn’t only help me learn more but also ensures I have considered all possibilities which is very important in medical care. I am ambitious and also have strong people skills which make it easier for people to work with me and communicate whatever they may want to say. These qualities will make me a successful radiologist because I can work on my own as well as with other people.

Radiologists work with doctors with expertise in different medical fields and as a result, have to continuously improve their skills in differential diagnosis. I am always looking for opportunities to improve my knowledge and skills and stay up-to-date with the latest news and trends in the field of radiology. In addition to radiology, I also read news on new technologies in medical science so that I will be able to provide the best advice to medical professionals who may seek my consultation services.

I am also interested in radiology because of my interest in sports. Even though sports have become safer as compared to the past due to advancements in safety equipment, there is still much work to do. The quality of treatment also depends upon the quality of diagnosis by radiologists. In addition, more and more people are engaging in physical activities due to growing awareness and these include elderly people who have historically shunned physical exercises due to widespread mythology that those with weaker bones should avoid sports and exercise.

I am fortunate to have acquired the academic and work experiences necessary for successful career as a radiologist. I am also lucky I have the opportunity make difference in the lives of numerous people and am not oblivious to the fact that having a great potential also puts huge responsibility upon us to make a difference in the world. I also realize I live in exciting times and new technologies have the promise to bring revolutionary progress in the field of radiology. I am determined to use all available resources at my disposal to ensure that patients receive healthcare at levels unprecedented in the history.
