Strategies for meeting regulatory and accreditation standards within health care organizations

Regulatory and accreditation standards are critical considerations in health care. The implication of accreditation is the formal process used for assessment as well as recognition of the published and pre-determined standards in health care organizations (Waring, 2007). The health care organization must meet the regulatory and accreditation standards through enhancement of health care quality by means of embracing optimal goals of achievements that are aimed at achievement of the standards requisite in health care organizations. They must also strive to enhance and stimulate proper integration as well as management of services offered in these institutions. The organizations are also obligated to initiate comparative database that facilitates in the achievement of precise processes, structures as well as outcome standards. Meeting regulatory and accreditation standards within health care organizations also require cost reduction in health care services through improvements in the level of efficiency along with effectiveness in service delivery. The organizations must also offer opportunities of learning and consultations among the professionals and managers with particular focus on improvement of quality strategies as well as the best practices of health care delivery. The organizations must also strive to empower the confidence of the general public with respect to health care quality as well as reductions of risks that are linked to injury as well as infections among the members of staff and the patients (Wachter, 2007).

Strategies of  regulatory and accreditation standards within health care organizations are effective in the promotion of the best safety practices as compared to other approaches such as public awareness and error reporting which is a requirement of the state. In majority of the health care organizations, regulatory and accreditation standards are critical drivers to efforts of safety.
