Research Interests, Personal Statement Example

Personally, I have a strong belief that education is one of those sectors that have no ending. I tend to perceive education as a life cycle that gains life at birth and only terminates when one dies. Many people tend to perceive education as just a mere process of reading books to pass exams which is not the case. Education should be perceived with passion and as a ladder towards achievement of career dreams and aspirations. My current plan is to pursue MS program in construction management. I want to pursue this major not just to gain a masters degree certification, but to explore, learn and experience the details of construction management from a broader and higher perspective.

There are several research interests and goals behind which I am motivated to pursue this program. To start with, I expect to attain a high quality educational experience in construction management. Such an experience will help me develop and nurture my technical and managerial knowledge as well as skills which are essential components for successful roles of leadership in the industry of building and construction. In addition, gaining knowledge and experience in construction management will put me in the best position to serve my country and fully participate in growth and development of the country’s infrastructure. In pursuing this program, I will be able to attain the certification necessary to create my own building and construction firm at an advanced stage where I can sub-contract other small building and construction firms. I will be able to apply and win building and construction tenders from my government and this will as well serve to create employment for other people in my country.
