Thesis Statement
The decision to separate the church from the state is inadvisable as it will erode the moral fiber that undergirds the process by which justice and fair play in society, and would result in the eventual death of the social conscience go balances vital decision making.
Proposal
The church and the state have significant roles to play in the progressive development of every society where rules, laws, regulations that are formulated by the latter, are expected to have foundations that are based on the moral standards of the church.
Both the church and the state affects the past, present, and future of people at the same time, and when they are at different ends of a continuum, then confusion, turmoil, uncertainty, reduction of loyalty, allegiance and distrust will occur.
Children growing up in this divisive atmosphere in which the church is separated from the state will be most severely affected.
The church and the state have divergent views on abortion and the removal of prayer from schools, and a research will be done, and evidence presented to proof that this scenario is inadvisable, especially with regards to the degradation of the moral conscience of society.
It is hoped that at the end of the days when the facts speaks for themselves, that many will agree that the church should not be separated from the state, in the interest of societal development, especially from the point of view of the children.
Abortion and Removing Public Prayer From Schools
The issue like abortion may have the church saying to its members that the state and itself does not see eye, but under God, to take the life of an unborn child is murder, regardless of the Rowe versus Wade landmark case several years ago.
The state advocates may say that it has to respect the ruling of the Supreme Court, and allows abortion to become law, because it may face lawsuit that will cause millions of dollars to be paid out to suitors.
However, from the point of view of members of the society, it becomes difficult to decide who to follow and a moral dilemma may occur. Confusion may force many to become distrustful and even lose interest in both the operations of the church and government.
Had the church and the state similar views on the issue, members of society may be influenced to follow a unified body, and as such help to reduce the possibility of increase in disorder, and disinterest in the functioning of the government.
Young girls in society, who are living promiscuous lifestyles, may believe it is OK for them to continue along this path, because should they become pregnant the state has already made legal provisions for them to abort those children.
Parents and the church will feel the negative effects on the abortion laws that that government supports, in that it reduces the authority and influence they had on the female under their care and stewardship.
Separation of church and state with respect to abortion affects the very moral fiber that holds society together, in that the decisions and that stance taken on this issue trickled downwards into the living rooms and pews of the homes and churches respectively, and may lead to further moral decay with the removal of prayer from schools.
Removing prayer from schools is the second attempt to destroy children, in that those who are fortunate to survive abortion, are subjected to further assault, as a result of the separation of church and state in the administration of the affairs of the country.
The church will argue its case that the bible teaches that men ought always to pray everywhere, and this includes doing so in schools, but with the state legislation in effect, children are deprived, and may become lawless and destructive to the society in the future.
Many in the church may further say that had not prayers removed from schools, there would not have been Columbine, Virginia Tech. or other shootings, in which several lives were needlessly lost \
When the church and the state are separated, standards will differ base on the perspectives of both sides, in that the legislators seek to appease the voters to ensure re-election, while the church look to please God by obeying his commandments.
The State will contend that its money and time to support religious activities, and the prayers may prove offensive to non religious students in the classrooms.
Additionally, it could also say that children should learn how to pray in the confines of their homes with their parents, and in churches in their neighborhood on weekends, rather than deprive teachers of valuable teaching times.
The church could take offense to these suggestions and rulings by the state legislators, and make the point that learning to pray in school is just as important to learning other subject, and America is still a Christian country.
Those who are aged, sober, and wise, will say when the church is separated from the state, that people will become divided on issues as important as prayer for children; who will be the men and women of tomorrow, and need all the prayerful support they can get, so that future disasters and poor decisions about life can be reduced.
Had there been unity between the state and the church on this matter, there would be less inclination for those who are in the minority to succeed in their opposition against public prayer.
Separation of church and state therefore divides the people and open doors for divisions and oppositions to activities that has contribute to the academic success of children in earlier generations
Abortion and the removal prayer from the classroom are just two major points of reference that reflects what happens when the church and the state are separated. The impact has serious repercussions on people at every level of society, and the effect may be irrevocable.
Mothers who were allowed to do their abortions, may be less likely to provide prayers for their children before sending them off to schools, so when they are deprive by the state from participating in public prayers, they end up having little time for spiritual; matters later on in life.
These same mothers are also unlikely to attend church in the neighborhood and take their sons and daughters with them. These children may therefore be totally deprived in the critical developmental stage of their development, and may be candidate for the drug gangs, one of the prison cells, or statistics in one of the many burial spots.
Ministers may firmly contend that separation of state and church destroys a country from the womb to the tomb, in that those who escape death in the womb may not be spared in the classroom, bedroom, living room, or in the pews of the church.
The state may legalize abortion for political and economic reasons, because the higher the percentage the less resource will be required for health, nutrition, and education of the children in the society.
Decisions of this nature could not succeed with the church in participation, because of their highly immoral nature, and it would seem that members of the state have ulterior motives in desiring to separate the church from the state.
The church would not agree or support the strategy, because it would be approving the death of the unborn, and would be no better off than the mothers who committed the acts in the clinics and hospitals across the nation.
Additionally, the church would oppose the state for legislating and administering abortion measures, because its mandates are different from the state. It believe every child should be nurtured from the womb into adulthood and be able to fulfill their purpose in life under God.
The State sees its roll in successfully running its administration using whatever means it can employ, even if it means using its legislative, political, and economic power.
If the church and the state were united, the children in the womb and those in the school room may be seen as future presidents, medical doctors, engineers, professors, farmers, dentists, teachers, scientist and other professionals who may lead the country, discover the cure diseases of many kinds, design new equipment and processes, or motivate millions to vote for non separation between church and state in the case of a referendum.
Separation of church and state may also lead to children being led down the path of deception some minister may say, in that in schools they are being told that they don’t need to seek God while pursuing their education, when the wisest man ever lived was told that in all his ways he should acknowledge God.
These children they may further argue may face challenges in life which renders their education helpless, and because they have no other recourse, may take their own lives.
The separation between church and state has far reaching implications upon society at large, and base on the effects of these two areas, namely abortion and removing prayer from public schools, the moral fibers that undergirds the dispensing of fair play and justice will really decay and rob many at all levels, of their social conscience regarding what is appropriate or inappropriate for even the very unborn child.
