The Madam CJ Walker Project, Business Proposal Example

She arrived in Harlem in 1916 at the very start of the First World War She visited the White House the next year to protest lynching and she built her own mansion right next to John D. Rockefeller’s estates. In 1918, the government put her under surveillance, accusing her of being a “negro subversive.”

But what is most interesting is Walker’s success and influence. Her personal success is, in itself worth noting, but Walker was not merely content to help herself. She revolutionized America by brining women who were once maids and laborers into the cosmetics business. Walker made it possible for American women to become entrepreneurs.

The film will star Oscar Nominated, BET award winning actress Queen Latifah, whose individual films, including Beauty Shop, Valentine’s Day, Hairspray,and Chicago, have grossed well over $100 M. It is based off of the compelling biography, On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker, written by Walker’s granddaughter, A’Lelia Bundles. It has been approved by Ms. Bundles, United States Congresswoman Diane E Watson and the NAACP.

The story of Madam CJ Walker is one that will not be easily forgotten. It serves as an inspiration for entrepreneurs and those who are struggling against racial prejudice.
