The writer goes on telling us how there is an expansion and redefinition of the public sphere and how the broadcasting media, cyber space’s has improved interaction in the everyday life. This has nothing to do with the topic especially for the first introductory page. The paper further describes its aim, which is to, “critically examine the implications of technological innovations for the place of action in the democratic public spheres and the political process.” This should not be the aim of the paper; rather the aim should be to investigate the actual “political action” with the facilitation of the technologies at the digital Age.

The paper explains how the internet does not provide equal opportunity for varying sites to be seen (page 3). It then contradicts itself when it states that the online internet component is crucial in the ability to capture videos, images, create records (page 5) to enhance politics and social power. Further contradiction observed when Becker insists that the ability to address political matters strongly depends on the campaign and face-face actions.

The paper has it that the digital media in the 2008 campaign proceeded Barack Obama into presidency (page12).In actual sense, his popularity, and his past records of performances that lead him in. His slogan of “change we can believe in” and the desire for change of the American people facilitated his entry into presidency. Such conclusions need not mentioning unless with enough proof. The conclusion is a clear indication that the paper discussed the reliance of digital media for political action instead of discussing the “meaning of political actions in the digital age.”
