The Wind in the Willows, Movie Review Example

Movie Review

Aired between the year 1984 and 1987, “the wind in the willows” was a drama series of its kind based on characters from Grahame Kenneth’s classic story. The drama represents creative side of Cosgrove Hall, an animation company, shown on the network of ITV. This essay reviews the drama, from its characterization, setting and communication.

Apparently, the drama is characterized by stars like Jason David as toad and Micheal Hordern as Badger, Chief Weasel and Sallis Peter as a rat. Further, Pearson Richard also was characterized as a Mole.  To control the parts and the whole flow of the drama, Caermicheal, who stood in as a narrator fit here well. In a stop-motion animation process, the drama incorporates all figures in scale model sets plus potable character figurines.  The theme of collective struggle and enduring friendship against a common foe gives the drama its relevance than ever. In as much as the characters in the play are awarded animal referrals, the fact remains that, toad and Badger, Mole and Ratty brings forth human terms with no resorting to downy anthroporphism. In this way, the mood of Christmas and celebration is portrayed in style, since its basics can literally be seen despite the accompaniment of humor in the whole drama setup. Markedly, the above phenomenon is brought to live when choreographer and dancer Will Tucket celebrates the first Christmas’ show which Royal Opera House commissioned on their tenth anniversary. With the absence of Anthony McGill, Tucket is honored to take up the narrator challenge, thus bringing about a poetic justice. The incidents in the drama connect in a manner that allows both the observers and the narrators to take part in the main theme hence ushering in a perfect show ever.

The familiarity of the tiny Dutches theatres is portrayed well, as simple anecdote opens out from the old attic of dust crowded with items from a forgotten past, a suit of armor, rocking horse and a stopped grandfather clock to the current societal milieu. Here, the tale captures all the genres in the society in a more profound manner, with the purpose of engaging the audience.

From the normal imagination to the real life situation, the play ensures the tinny issue is noted. For instance, hotheaded toad surprisingly lands himself in a jail after literally stealing a car, which forces Whiles to have no other option other than raising hell at Toad. Several incidents of humor are fathomed in the play, for instance the nostalgic escapism of Graham. However, in the same account, other notable incidents negate the above humor to give out a bit boring scenarios. For instance the set piece performed by Jailer’s daughter featuring Toad, which even though lasted for only a few minutes, was so boring to be considered as an hour performance.  Away from the above, it is arguable that, even though the show was interesting, it could be even more interesting if less aimless skipping and then more defined dancing were incorporated. Nevertheless, the whole episode forms an enjoyable and energetic atmospheric creation giving the community its sense of resonance considering the time it was aired. This drama however, is one of the most valued dramas, considering the fact that producers gave its timing perfectly well. Primarily, this is what gives any piece of work its power to gain attention. Overall, for a drama to be a hit, the theme should be noted, other than the many colorful events and hymens that might not add up, a rule that the above drama follows.
