Introduction

When the name Villars-Sur-Ollon comes to ear, it could be pictured as the cradle of the most expensive international education ever offered in the world today. Elite families often send their studying children in the area to perfect their skills and become more academically excellent especially when it comes to the studies that they are trying to complete. Relatively, it is the environment that defines Villars-sur-Ollon that makes it a haven for studying. The coolness of the weather and the serenity of the place, almost undisturbed by the essence of modern living [like it is in modern cities today], students are given the chance to relax and concentrate to their heart’s fullest.

However, as the famous saying goes “all work and no play makes a dumb person” opened the possibility for residents in the area to develop the way they cater to the needs of the students they give educational service to. Back in the days, it was only education that made a great name in the area. However, in the coming years when more and more students have known about the excellent condition of learning in the village, the need to increase the way they are served became a need more than just a source of common profit for the locals.

Studying in Villa0Sur-Ollon is just like taking a vacation. From this point, the administrators and the locals realized that it was high time to give their clients a chance to enjoy the place more than just through the education that they are getting from the area. This is how the point of tourism has grown in Switzerland [within this specific location]. In the research that follows, a distinction on how tourism has grown in the area shall be given attention to. Basing the discussion from the description of the then-and-now comparison of the area’s status, this research shall better define the condition of living and vacation that the area provides to hopeful individuals who want nothing but relaxation and adventure at the same time.

What is Tourism?

Tourism is basically the industry that involves the transfer of individuals from their homeland to another place to spend some time for the sake of relaxation and unwinding. Notably, vacations could be either long or short in the span of time that the individuals want to spend in a specific area. Understandably, what drives a person to stay in one specific location is that of the possibilities the area offers them with. These options of staying however would only appeal to the visitor[s] depending on the manner by which they behave. Relatively, people who are more adventurous would enjoy more exiting offers of different activities that might involve ‘being one with nature’. On the other hand, some other individuals choose to stay based on the much cozier offers of an area such as staying in a serene place or simply enjoying the mood and weather that the area offers. There are also common matters that are seemingly important to visitors; this includes malls [large or small], convenience stores, gift shops and souvenir kiosks. Others, who want to explore the people rather than the place, might be interested in experiencing the actual culture of the place.

The many attitudes of the tourists coming from the different areas of the globe specifically create a distinctive indication on what tourism is about and how it is able to reshape the old and traditional standing of several places around the globe. For instance, provinces that are noted to have serene and more relaxing places are now trying to accommodate more people through upgrading the line of activities they want to offer to both local and international visitors. The same thing happened in Villars Sur Ollon. To see the difference on how tourism reshaped the name and the reputation of this particular community, the following sections shall provide a more clarified vision of the said area and how it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and accommodating paradise for visitors from all over the globe.

After all, it is because of these elements of nature that Villars have become more attractive and specifically interesting to tourists who do not have the same features of nature in their own homelands.

Conclusion

It could be understood from this presentation that Villars Sur Ollon and its residents were able to attain good reputation and a sense of advancement based on their desire to further the possibilities they have in improving their capabilities of welcoming tourism in their homeland. Relatively, the results and definitions presented herein proves the fact that tourism need not destroy nature, instead, if handled properly, it could improve the manner by which nature itself is being protected, improved and preserved for the visitors and the residents of a specific location. Through the example set by Villars and its people, it could be assumed that tourism could indeed provide a lot of changes to a simplistic form of living, and yet the balance of handling its effects could also be a source of better living standards for the people of a certain town, province or even the whole nation.
