The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire teaches a valuable lesson on the importance of building safety. The specific condition of working environment that the sweatshop employees had to deal with actually affected the result of the fire that happened during the time. The employees who were trapped in the 9th and 10th floor were given no choice but to jump to their deaths on the remaining fire exit which stairs have been destroyed by the fire. The capacity of a building to protect its people from possible uncontrolled situations through the availability of emergency exists when certain occurrences happen. Through this incident, the building code of safety have been redefined and developed to make a specific impact on further improving the condition of working environment that workers have to stay in a daily basis. Along with this, learning through the behavior of the workers provide a good engagement of the manger into the situation and the people involved in their organizations thus preventing emergency situations such as that of the fire that happened in the shirtwaist factory presented in the news.
