Volunteering at California Hospital, Personal Statement Example

 “Why are you interested in volunteering at California Hospital?”

I have always believed in being of service to others, and I know CHMC does as well. Throughout my years, I have always kept my eyes on CHMC and the manner through which it helps certain individuals. Having been blessed enough to fulfill two of my clinic rotations at the hospital (one in Labor & Delivery while the other in the Intensive Care Unit & Emergency Department), I have grown more and more fond of the hospital and its staff throughout the years. Also, I have had the opportunity to interact with nurses and midwives, which has only intensified my yearning to want to be a nurse in the near future. My experience at CHMC has always been unforgettable, which is why I intend to be an extraordinary volunteer here. CHMC has aided me well in my pursuits of wanting to be a nurse, so I strongly believe that through being a volunteer, I would be returning the favor. As a volunteer, I intend to focus on helping in the formulation of healthy families and initiating programs such as “Welcome Baby” in order to provide a whole different standard of living to families based in Los Angeles. I believe in giving patients individual attention and attending to their every need. I am cognizant of the fact that I have great potential in alleviating the pain inflicted on patients from diseases; all I necessitate is an opportunity. In addition to that, I know that I can catapult the lives of many suffering individuals into a placid and comfortable life. I want to help people who do not have the ability to help themselves. By fulfilling my dream of volunteering at CHMC, I will be fulfilling the lives of others by helping families make better life choices and aid them in pursuing the best decision for their current or future families. I assure you that if and when I am accepted as a volunteer at CHMC, I will surpass all expectations, both yours, and mine.
