Argument: Tackling poverty within the society from a well-being perspective is an effective approach to public relations campaign. Enabling people to maximize their true potential will help them overcome psychological and life quality issues.
Amato and Zuo (1992) differentiate between urban and rural poverty. The authors conclude that the two types of poverty affect well-being a different way. Stress, poor health and limited opportunities affect people in a different way. The article would support the authors to determine the right strategies within the thesis paper.
Anderson et al. (2002) describe poverty as an issue that cannot be tackled by reducing the amount of welfare provided for employable adults. The article talks about enabling people to become ready for work, instead of providing them benefits to keep them above the poverty line.
Goldstein (1984, pp. 242.) talks about changing attitudes of people about welfare in public relations. This is a truly enabling method of reducing welfare abuse and changing people’s mental approach towards life, work and education. Therefore, the right approach towards public relations campaign should create a new ideology around people who are suffering from poverty.
Creating public relations campaigns around welfare and poverty, according to Weaver et al. (2012, pp. 15) is about establishing a constructive discourse about social issues in the community. Sponsoring these discourses in order to develop local communities would be an effective approach to public relations campaigns.
The term paper would review the related literature regarding public relations approaches to poverty and welfare in order to develop a framework based on political, ideological and research guidelines. (Black, 2012. pp. 1-13.)
